Innovation for Living
Anyone living near a coastal environment knows that exposure to moisture, sun, salt and wind wreak havoc on outdoor construction materials. Even the new composite decking systems have limitations or drawbacks. Founder and inventor Guerry Green grew up in the coastal town of Pawleys Island SC. He began his career as a contractor doing remodeling and new home construction. Frustrated by existing screen porch systems that were difficult to install and replace, he invented Screen Tight in 1990, a first-of-its-kind channel screen system that completely revolutionized the screen industry.
Applying the same problem-solving innovation that led to Screen Tight, Guerry became frustrated with the structural integrity of PVC. While PVC has many attributes, its main drawback as a building material was its structural integrity. As a result, Guerry invented a new way to make PVC structurally rigid. Guerry’s Green Eagle Technology is a patented process that uses a composite laminate inserted into plastic profiles during the extrusion process, making the plastic profile up to 20X stronger. Next Guerry began to create new products leveraging the new Green Eagle Reinforced Technology. Thus Ocean Decks was born specifically to withstand the harsh elements of coastal environments. The result is the strongest, lightest and most durable decking system on the planet that matches the beauty and look of the highest quality teak without the maintenance demands.
Ocean Decks require no spacing between the boards during installation. The result is a more finished look, keeping the underside dry, and eliminating the need for expensive under-decking systems.
